Hello
I try to install the USB Blaster on Windows 7 (Quartus II 8.0). Warning said that the driver is not certified, then I continue as specified in the installation user guide and finally the process fails with an error code. Thank for you help. JacquesLink Copied

problem is this, because i tried usb blaster also on 64bit system, result was the same. so i found on the altera website, that usb blaster is not supported on the W7 64bit system.
this from pdf of Altera: The USB-Blaster download cable is only available for Windows 2000, Windows XP (32-bit and 64-bit), Windows Vista (32-bit and 64-bit), UNIX and all Linux plaforms such as Red Hat Enterprise 4, Red Hat Enterprise 5, CentOS 4/5, and SUSE Linux Enterprise 9. link: http://www.altera.com/literature/ug/ug_usb_blstr.pdf?gsa_pos=3&wt.oss_r=1&wt.oss=usb%20blaster%20win%20xp i am sorry for bad news, vaclav- Mark as New

Ough! really a bad new ...
Thank you for this information. That means that downloading and installing (it is what I'am currently doing) the last Quartus version (9.1) will have no effect. Best regards Jacques- Mark as New

i think 9.1 will fix the problem, from what i've heard the driver has been re-signed and should work.

The driver in 9.1 does look to be signed properly, although I have not actually tried to install it yet.
I know the driver from Quartus II 7.2 SP2 works with Vista x64. This is what I have been using even with newer versions of Quartus. The drivers included with Quartus II 8.0 through 9.0 definitely do not work with Vista x64.- Mark as New

This works. I have just installed v7.2 SP1 on a brand-new Dell running Win7 x64. However, you must install SP1 to gain access to the x64 drivers. Thanks for your help!!!
