USB blaster available on PC, not in Quartus programmer

I have a DE2-115 dev board. I have been using this with my current computer (w8.1) for over a year without problems.

Due to other activities I did not use my board until last week. But to my dismay I found the programmer did not recognise

the USB Blaster. I tried v11.1, v13.1 and 14.0. I know the device is available because I have a JTAG analysing tool and

it sees the cyclone chip. I hoped installing 14.1 would solve the problem but I am unable to download let alone install

this version. I have reinstalled the drivers multiple times with previously stated versions, which did not help.

Can anyone point me to something I might try to be able to connect?

[note]I also cannot connect to a DE2-50 board from my university.

Solved it. (I hope). Had some time to try again, but there was no need. It worked at the first try.
