Unable to select specific active serial configuration device in Quartus Pro "Device and Pin Options"

Arria 10 and Quartus Pro 20.4

In Quartus Standard device and pin options we can select from a list of compatible flash devices however in Quartus Pro the "Configuration Device Options..." button is greyed out:

Capture.PNGHow do I tell Quartus Pro what configuration device to use for active serial configuration scheme in our project?

Thanks

Steve

Hi,
there's no need or purpose of setting a specific configuration device in Device Options, the device has to be set in Programming File Generator tool in case you are using indirect JTAG programming method for the flash.

Thanks FvM -- this makes good sense but now I'm confused as to why Quartus Standard allows a configuration device to be selected in the equivalent Device and Pin Options section when using Standard edition -- perhaps it is an unused setting left over from previous versions...
