How to restart my computer

Got a notification to update IRST. After the update, my laptop (Acer SF3-5-52-52YN) would not restart. The Acer logo comes up, and then the screen goes black. How can I get my computer to work?

I got the same notification for my desktop, but I will not update the IRST, since I don't want to risk have 2 unusable computers.

Please ignore my question. It took longer than the suggested 25 minutes, but my laptop now works.
