Hello everyone, I am trying to install Windows 11 Pro, but I cannot find a driver so Windows can see the NVME I have installed. These are my specs:
Windows 11 Pro
Intel Core i7-14700K
Crucial T700 CT2000T700SSD3
MSI MEG Z790 ACE
I am trying to install the Crucial NVME into the Gen5 NVME slot. I was able to get Windows installed by moving the Crucial to one of the Gen4 slots & extracting the RST drivers, then installing them during installation. I have been unable to find a driver to get this Crucial to install in the Gen5 slot though... Does anyone know how to get this to work / where I can find the driver?
Thank you

1. Is the SSD recognized in BIOS when installed in M2_4 (PCIe5x4)slot?
2. Are you aware that M2_4 slot is unavailable when installing in PCI_E2 slot?

Hello Leon, thak you for your reply. The NVME shows up in the BIOS when I put it into the top M.2 slot closest to the CPU (PCIe Gen 4). I have two Samsung 990 Pro 4tb NVME's in the next two lower slots (PCIe Gen 4). The PCIe Gen 5 slot is the bottom left one & the NVME does not show up in the BIOS when I put it into that slot.
No, I was not aware that the M2_4 slot is unavailable when installing in PCI_E2 slot.
I want to install Win 11 Pro onto the Crucial PCIe Gen 5 NVME & run that in the Gen5 slot on the motherboard. I then wanted to have the two Samsung 990 Pro 4tb NVME's in RAID 0 running in two of the PCIe Gen 4 slots. I have two RTX 4090's in the system also for running AI models. How do you think I should go about getting this to work?
Thank you for your help,

I looked into this more... I can either run the two 4090's & have the Crucial NVME run at PCIe Gen 4 speeds, or I can try moving the 2nd 4090 to the PCI_E3 slot & if it will fit / move whatever I have plugged into the bottom of the board somewhere else... I will give this some thought. Thank you VERY much for pointing this out to me Leon!

Please read the User Manual, pages 33-41 for M2 slots installation instruction and limitation. Yes, if you want to have M2_4 slot available, the PCI_E2 slot (the middle slot), have to be unoccupied. Read also the speed limitation of the PCIe slots, on page 31.
