My Nord VPN has identified a vulnerability caused by the version of Intel Rapid Storage Technology installed (ver 15.7.0.1014).
I have tried to download an update from the intel website and using the memory and storage tool but no success.
My hard drive model no. is Micron _1100_MTFDDAV256TBN.
Please can you advise.

Hello PH9,
I am continuing to investigate this issue internally and need to gather some additional information to assist with the process:
1) SSU Logs: Please download the Intel® System Support Utility for Windows software. Once the download is complete, open SSU.exe.
- Scan: Select the "Everything" checkbox.
- Click "Scan."
- Review: After the scan is complete, click "Next."
- Click "Save."
- Please attach the SSU log file in your response.
2) Besides our website, where else have you attempted to obtain the driver for Intel RST? If possible, please share the link.
3) Is your operating system fully updated?
I look forward to your reply.
Best regards,
JeanetteC.

Hi PH9,
Please attach the text file in this thread. Once we receive the SSU logs, we'll investigate the issue further. In the meantime, could you share a screenshot of the message you're receiving with your Nord VPN?
Best regards,
Dhanniel M.

Hello PH9,
OEMs like Acer often pre-install Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST) drivers on laptops to ensure compatibility with storage configurations such as RAID or systems using Intel Optane memory. This is part of the standard software package provided by the manufacturer.
NordVPN's alert about Intel RST likely indicates potential vulnerabilities due to outdated drivers. This is a common issue with many software types. Keeping drivers updated is essential for security and performance. For specific details, check NordVPN's support or documentation.
If you have concerns about vulnerabilities or driver updates, contact Acer. OEMs are typically aware of vulnerabilities and address them through updates. Acer can confirm if your Intel RST driver version (15.7.0.1014) is the latest and most secure for your laptop.
While updating the Intel RST driver from Intel is recommended, OEMs like Acer may have customized versions. It's best to use the OEM-provided driver for compatibility and stability.
According to the INTEL-SA-00961 advisory, use the latest Intel RST driver version from the OEM. If you face vulnerability issues, direct these concerns to Acer, as they are responsible for addressing them in their systems.
I will go ahead and close this thread. If you require help in the future, please submit a new inquiry, as this thread will no longer be monitored.
Sincerely,
JeanetteC.
