After installing RST version 17.11.0.1000 my system loses compatibility with direct storage.
The compatibility can be checked using the following command in cmd :
fsutil bypassIo state c:\
More documentation here:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/ifs/bypassio
The Intel RST driver is reported as incompatible whereas the standard Microsoft driver "Standard NVM Express Controller" works and is reported as compatible.
Installing RST replaces the "Standard NVM Express Controller" driver and makes direct storage unusable.
The system is currently running in AHCI mode.
I would like to know if this behavior is intended and if support for Direct Storage will be added.
My system:
Intel i7 7820X
MSI X299 SLI PLUS
1 M.2 PCI-E SSD, 1 SATA SSD, 2 HDDs.
Windows 11 22621.2361

Dear @lm90,
We greatly appreciate your engagement within the Intel️® communities, and we're enthusiastic about assisting you with your current concern.
After conducting a thorough examination of the issue, our dedicated RAID team has recommended the most effective course of action. To resolve the issue, we suggest reaching out to MSI to acquire the appropriate driver for the RST. Given the product's extended lifespan, Intel does not provide a universal Intel RST driver for this specific case.
Warm regards,
Isaac Q.
