Intel Rapid Storage Technology version 9.5.4.1001 WHQL

Has anyone tried the latest version of Rapid Storage Technology drivers (v 9.5.4.1001)? I noticed this new versioin on a drivers website. I'm interested in them as a solution to the random RAID failures in Matrix Storage Manager 8.9.0.1023 and whether they support TRIM with an SSD in Windows 7.

9.5.0.1037 works and is a solution to the random RAID failures with 8.9 even if some say otherwise.

Thanks, Peter. I've kept an eye on other threads about 9.5.0.1037 and my main concern is whether it supports TRIM - I've seen comments that it doesn't. My disk configuration is a non-RAID SSD and a RAID-5 using HDD, all on an Intel P55 chipset with Windows 7 64-bit, so I'm keen to solve the random RAID failures problem without losing TRIM support.

Not easy to say. some say it works but there are few people that said it didnt solve the problem. Seems it really depends on your hardwares. for example i thought IMSM 8.8 solved the problem but here i am with crahsed array agian after almost 2 months. so even 8.8 which seemed pretty solid at first couldnt do the trick for me.

Yes, these drivers are working fine with my Intel ICH10R RAID0 system consisting of 2x160 GB Postville SSD's.

I doubt, that they do already support the Trim command, when running in RAID Mode.

Fernando,

Thanks for your reply.

Just so you know, you will need to install the old version first which will also give you the config panel toolbox thingy. Then you will have to manually install the latest version through Device Manager since there is no installer on StationDrivers (I am assuming that is the website you are talking about).

You will end up rebooting about 3 times as well.

So no one knows if these support TRIM on non-RAID arrays..
