Hi,

Was wondering is there an efi driver available for when working in the efi shell environment?

I never see my ich10r raid array in the shell.

Thanks

Hello Davidm71,

Thank you for contacting the Intel community.

This depends on your computer manufacturer and how your system was configured; do you have your system model, operating system that you have installed and the raid?

You can check Basic Instructions for Using the Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) here:

Regards,

I am referring to the intel matrix raid thats embedded in most non server motherboards. Would be nice if there was an efi driver. Thanks.

Thanks for the information, what is the operating system you are using?

May ask the reasons why you need a driver for the EFI shell?

Thats because I sometimes modify my uefi bootloader settings manually using a shell and bcfg tool. Not only that I use Tianocore's Duet to boot an NVME drive using an nvme efi driver to boot the drive on older system. Sometimes I even use Clover and it would be nice if my raid array was accessable inside the shell when I do maintenance tasks. Thats why. Can't believe there isn't such a driver out there. In matter of fact some guy emailed asking if I found one so there is demand for one.

Thanks.

Hello,

Your request has been submitted but I cannot make any promise at this point.

I would recommend to periodically check on the https://downloadcenter.intel.com/ Download Center or this website: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/technologies/000005769.html Supported Operating Systems for Intel® Rapid Storage Technology

I need this also. Im doing a hyper-converged private cluster and I would like to be free from virtio, so I need this to be able to boot from the onboard Intel RAID on X10SL7-F under edk2/OVMF. Linux KVM and OVMF perfectly provide critical VMs to be installed on physical redundant bootloaders (USB) but not on RST(e).

Can see the UEFI USB drive entries but not the needed RAID array.
