I have an existing disk of 1TB. I put in another disk and use Intel Rapid Storage Technology software to create a RAID 1 volume with the old disk being kept without being overwritten. The software starts running and it finishes but I still see my old hard drive in My Computers. Do I suppose to see a new volume and I need to start writing to that one instead?
How do I know that my RAID 1 setup really work?

What does the Rapid Storage Technology Manager tell you about the volume?
You can find information on RST at the http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/imsm/sb/CS-020670.htm RST support site.
Regards,
John

It says that the Status is Normal. I was expecting to see my original drive no longer visible and a new drive is available. Maybe might expectation is wrong?
