Rapid Start vs Rapid Response vs Rapid Storage

Could someone explain how these all work together? I have a DH87RL board with one HDD and an mSATA SDD. I was trying to get Rapid Start to work to no avail. My system is using EFI with Windows 8.1 x64. The instructions I linked below were no help in configuring it. The partition would change to unknown when I use the 'set id' command. The vBIOS is set to use RAID and Rapid Storage Technology is working. Maybe I have rapid start configured and don't even know it.

My Rapid Storage Setup is in the image below. I clicked some buttons trying to turn on acceleration as I read that was needed. This is the result. Top array is my mSATA SSD.

When I try to install Rapid Start I get:

I'm just a bit confused about all this. What did I just do? Why won't Rapid Start install? It is enabled in the bios and hibernation is set to immediate. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is very important to mention that Rapid Start is a feature that allows your computer to go from being in a very deep-sleep to fully awake in a flash. On the other hand, Intel® Smart Response allows accelerating the system mechanical disk using a SSD and it is part of the Rapid Storage technology Software. ; However, you can use only one technology at the time either Rapid Start or Intel® Smart Response

This may be the reason why you are having problems using both technologies at the same time.

Thanks. I think I will avoid using Rapid Start if I can get my system to boot again. I was not aware only one could be used at a time.

According to the Rapid Start guide you've linked to, you can install both Rapid Start and Smart Response on the same system, as long as you install Smart Response BEFORE setting up Rapid Start.

Is the guide in error?

In fact the guide says that you can install the Smart response before setting up the Rapid Start but the system cannot use both at the same time. This is something that is not pointed in the user guide and I will send to be added it to the file.
