Upgrading RST v10.8 to v12

Currently my system is running 2 SSD's in Raid0 and has the Intel RST 10.8.0.1003 installed. I would like to upgrade to the latest Intel driver. I searched the download center and found version 12.9.0.1001. Reading the "readme.txt", it seems that this also supports my chipset and OS. (X58 and Win7x64)

From what I have found in the readme.txt, is upgrading just as simple as running the "SetupRST.exe"?

There is a difference: Intel® X58 Chipset is ICH, specifically ICH10R, and it supports up to https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=22194 Intel® RST 11.7. Later versions (12.x) only support PCH.

I recommend staying with the version you have currently installed since you do not have issues with it, but if you really want to update you can do so.
