Why is RST delayed?

I'm curious to know why Intel RST is delay launched? I have no issues. Just wanted to know why it was designed that way. And whether there were any positive or negative effects if it was set to launch, not delayed?

Hello cespencer,

The behavior you are experiencing is expected; this service will delay in order facilitate faster system boot times. This service can be configured manually in order to stop this delay, please see the steps below in order to achieve it;

  1. Go to Intel Rapid Storage Technology Properties.
  2. Select the General tab.
  3. Change the Startup type to Automatic.
  4. Click Apply and OK to save.

Hello Amy C.,

Thanks for the reply. You knid of answered my question. Essentially, there is no advantage in setting the RST to Automatic. Rather, there is an advantage in Delayed Start. Is that correct?
