Wifi on my new laptop has been really slow.
I followed the instructions here
after a lot of disabling and re-enabling, I narrowed it down to intel(R) storage middleware service
My question is... What is `intel(R) storage middleware service`?
Do I need it? Will my laptop be ok if I keep this disabled?
Is there a way to keep this service running without impacting the WiFi adapter?
With this service disabled, I get 250-300mbps
with the service running I get 4-28mbps... A big difference

I have pasted above the information I have. I viewed it in system configuration. I have disabled it and my system runs a lot better, particularly the WiFi as noted above.
I am guessing but I assume that it is related to Intel(R) Chipset SATA/PCIe RST Premium Controller showin in this pic:
If this is not the info you required, could you advise where I should look

Hello, @PaulMcF87
Thank you for your time.
This will not impact anything related to the Intel technologies in the system, however, we cannot have certainty if the System Manufacturer uses it for other configurations, so we recommend contacting them to make sure of this.
Please let me know if there's another subject I could help you with.

Sorry, I didnt understand that last message.
Am I safe to leave it turned off?
I would rather have it working correctly and not impacting my Wi-Fi connection... Is there anything I can do to sort the issue?

Hello, @PaulMcF87
Thank you for your reply.
As mentioned above, this should not impact anything related to the Intel technologies in the system.
However, we cannot have certainty if the System Manufacturer uses it for other configurations, so our recommendation is to contact them to make sure of this. System Manufacturers can do customizations in their products that we are not aware of and this controller can be used for other purposes, that's why we recommend checking with them to make sure other things are not affected by disabling it.

Hello, @PaulMcF87
Thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately, we are not familiar with this service as is not included by Intel and is not related to Intel RST configuration or similar. If you need support regarding this service, we recommend you contact your System Manufacturer for further assistance, as it could have been added by them.
If you need assistance with other matters, please feel free to contact us back and submit a new question as this thread will no longer be monitored.
Best regards,
