Is the Intel Atom processor suitable for a computer running on windows server 2003? We are running an educational institution and would like to move the existing server pc to a new one which contains Atom processor. And it is told that the computing power of Atom processor is much smaller that it can be compared only to a 1GHz Pentium III processor. Is it true?

Although you could ask in the Processor community (http://communities.intel.com/community/tech/processors) for more information, I believe you'll find that the Atom would *not* be best utilized for a server system. Looking at http://www.intel.com/technology/atom/ , you've got features like "extended battery life", which shouldn't be a server concern at all. I think it'd be the wrong tool for the job...
