Will the Intel ® RAID Controller RS3UC080 work if connected in PCI-E x16 3.0?

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.  


The Intel® RAID Controller RS3UC08 is made and recommended to be used on PCIe x8 Gen3.


In regards to your question, theoretically, devices x8 should be able to work in PCIe x16 however they will be limited to x8 and also it's very important to mention that some motherboards specify that one or more of the PCIe x16 slots are designated graphic slots, in these cases other types of controllers may not work in these slots.


It's recommended to verify the hardware compatibility with the motherboard and PCIe specifications.
