Intel Server Board S2600CW2R and SR-IOv support??

Jump to solution

I'm looking to make a Virtualization Home Lab. I want to eventually run the router as a VM along with a Web- + Mailserver.

I learned I need SR-IOv functionality. Now I wonder if this mobo above has SR-IOv (Single Root IO Virtualization) support?

What other things do I have to be aware of beyond the mobo supporting SR-IOv?

Hello, Jorgen,

I have reviewed the features supported by our Intel® Server Board S2600CW2R and PCI-SIG Single Root I/O Virtualization (SR-IOV) is included by Intel® Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (VT-d).

The technology requires enabling Intel® Virtualization Technology in BIOS.

I am sending you Intel® documentation in regard to https://www.intel.com/content/dam/doc/white-paper/pci-sig-single-root-io-virtualization-support-in-v... PCI-SIG Single Root I/O Virtualization (SR-IOV) Support in Intel® Virtualization Technology for Connectivity plus general information provided with Microsoft® website.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/network/single-root-i-o-virtualization--sr... Single Root I/O Virtualization (SR-IOV)

Please let me know if you require further assistance.

Regards,

Mike C
