Hi,
I have a HP Z6 workstation with Rapid Storage Technology enterpise sSATA Option ROM 5.3.0.1052 (2003-2017) Intel Corportion.
The system was setup (around 2019) with RAID 1 with 2 x 10 TB WD drives mounted under Centos 7.9. The OS was put on an SSD and the RAID was used for data processing.
Today, Linux was not able to access it anymore. More investigation in Linux revealed that one drive was degraded.
However, when I restarted the system and entered by pressing Ctrl-I the Rapid Storage Technology enterpise sSATA Option ROM 5.3.0.1052 (2003-2017) there was no array defined.
How can I recover the data from the unaffected hard drive, since there is NO option to rebuild.
Thank you,
H

Hi H__,
Warm greetings and good day to you.
Thank you for reaching out to Intel Community Support!
As pertaining to your query, we would like to have a better understanding on your current issue. We would appreciate if you can provide us detailed answers for the queries made below.
1) We know that the whole array i snot visible, but just reconfirming if you have the degraded disk been replaced yet? If yes, use the following steps to start a rebuild of a degraded RAID volume after replacing the failed hard drive with a new hard drive of equal or larger size.
- Turn on the system.
- Open the Intel® Rapid Storage Technology user interface. After the operating system is running, click Intel RST in the start menu or right-click the Intel RST tray icon and click Intel RST.
- Click Rebuild to another disk.
- Select the new hard drive.
- Click Rebuild.
2) Please check whether the drives are connected to the SAS ports or the SATA ports? Because this software is for monitoring the SATA ports.
3) Please generate the system reports for RST by following the steps below and provide to us.
To view a system report, follow these steps:
- Open the Intel Rapid Storage Technology user interface (Start > Programs > Intel > Intel® Rapid Storage Technology).
- Click the Help icon.
- Click the System Report icon.
To save a system report, follow these steps:
- Open the Intel Rapid Storage Technology user interface (Start > Programs > Intel > Intel® Rapid Storage Technology).
- Click the Help icon.
- Click the System Report icon.
- Click Save
4) Please provide a screenshot of your RSTe so we can know what exactly that is displaying. Are there any disks listed in the RSTe?
Thank you & Best Regards,
