Hello!
Intel Server S2600WT with 2 Intel Gold CPUs
LSI MegaRAID 9460-16i RAID Controller
All Disks are connected to the RAID Controller
I had this system running for 5 years now.
Last week the server was offline suddenly. I checked it and found out that the RAID Controller was not visible anymore in the Boot list nor in the mass storage controller section in the bios. The 9460-16i does not offer the possibility to enter a bios by pressing ctrl+c or something like that.
Allready done:
- Disabled quiet boot
- Reset Bios to default (removed battery)
- Changed Controller to second riser card.
- Bought a spare 9460-16i and installed it
- Bought a spare S2600WT mainboard and testet it with both (old and new) RAID controllers.
Every combination was tested in UEFI and legacy mode.
Since all these things did not help it looks like I am doing something wrong.
Thanks for your input
Gerald

Hi Dormi98,
Thank you for contacting Intel Communities.
According to the information provided it seems that LSI MegaRAID 9460-16i RAID Controller is from Original Equipment Manufacturer(OEM).
Can you please check if you are using the latest BIOS system?
If you are not, please check below link and update your BIOS.
Kindly check if the RAID controller is visible after updating the BIOS.
Else please try contacting the OEM for the RAID controller.
Kindly let us know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Hayat

Thanks for your answer.
I can confirm that the BIOS of the spare board I bought is at 01.01.3029. I tested it again with both controllers (old and new one). Still no Raid controller visible.
I will try to update the old mainboard as well, but I don't think that will do it.
