Since a couple of weeks we could not use chrome to open the "Launch Console" in the RMM4. We get the Messages: jviewer.jnlp - Failed: File incomplete.
With other Browsers like Firefox and Opera it works. But did you know what we could do that it also works with Chrome ?
We have the newest Firmware :
Remote Management Module key :Installed
Device (BMC) Available :Yes
BMC FW Build Time :2018-12-03 09:11:32
BIOS ID :S1200SP.86B.03.01.0042.013020190050
BMC FW Rev :1.16.11302
Boot FW Rev :1.05SDR
Package Version :SDR Package 0.27
Mgmt Engine (ME) FW Rev :04.01.04.054
We have a valid SSL Certificate installed!
Do we need to replace the RMM ?
Is there a workaround ?
This Servers are not old and we want to be sure that we could use the RMM "Console" for the next 3-4 years.
Thanks for your help !

Thank you Emeth.
As described in this document, for security reasons, Java is less and less supported.
We use AXXRMM4Lite. As i see the new AXXRMM4Lite2 (Version 2) use HTML5 for the console.
So it would be better to change all the RMM4 Modules.
Can i install the AXXRMM4Lite2 (Version 2) in every server or is there a Compatibility Matrix ?
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
According to ark.intel.com:
Intel® Server Board S2600WTTR is comparable with AXXRMM4Lite2.
Intel® Server Board S2600GZ is not comparable with AXXRMM4Lite2
About the Intel® Server Board S1200SP Family, which specific board do you have?
Because there are different models for that family.
I will be waiting for your outcome in order to verify the information.
Have a wonderful day.

Hi Emeth,
I replaced on a server the AXXRMM4Lite with a AXXRMM4Lite2.
This makes no difference to access of the console. It will still uses Java.
We have the newest Firmware installed and i reinstalled the Firmware.
So we can't change the console Access from java to HTML5 ?
Thanks & best regards
Silvan

Hello Silvan,
I am very glad to hear from you back. Let me assist you with this in order to achieve this implementation successfully.
I was doing some research and I found the following article:
After the BIOS update, on the intel server boards that support the new AXXRMM4Lite2 when you access through the BMC Console do you see the option Remote Control > iKVM? Because by clicking iKVM over HTML5 will run without the JAVA plugin if the browser is HTML5 capable.
If you would like to see more details about the iKVM over HTML5, I will share with you the following User Guide.
Please check page 75 in order to find the section mentioned above:
https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/server-products/server-boards/Purley_RMM4_BMC_User_Guide.pdf
Please, let me know if you see the iKVM option on your system. I will be waiting for your outcome in order to proceed with the next step.
Best regards,

Hi Emeth
I replaced the AXXRMM4Lite with a new AXXRMM4Lite2. Updated the Firmware of the Board and the BMC. But no Luck. We can't access the Console via HTML.
Hers a screen shot of the BMC Web Interface where you see the Tabs and all other infos:
Any suggestions ?
Thanks in advance

Hi Emeth
Sorry for the delay. After a research i have found out that the "iKVM over HTML5" has nothing to do if you have AXXRMM4Lite ora AXXRMM4Lite2. Its the Version of the BMC FW!
So i have on all my R1304SPOSHORR the BMC FW Rev :1.16.11302 but to have "iKVM over HTML5" you need BMC FW Rev :2.x or higher!! Where can i found a update ?
Otherwise the Console function is not usable anymore with a up-to-date browser.
thanks in advance

Hello SDiem,
Thanks for the feedback. The BMC firmware you have Rev 1.16.11302 is the latest one available included in the BIOS updates package version: 03.01.0042 from a year ago. To be honest I don't think some newer updates will be released soon to fix this particular issue. Even though we will research with our engineering team.
Regards
Jose A.
