Hello friends,

Please help me.

Intel® Server System M50CYP1UR212.

After updating the bios, the following error occurred"Ensure the chassis lid is properly closed and re-run the BIOS/firmware update".

The update was completed successfully (received a message about the successful completion of the update) but today this error occurs

Downloaded the update from here Intel® Server Board M50CYP Family BIOS and Firmware Update Package for UEFI

Please tell me what this error is, why it occurred.

How to fix this problem?

And tell me how to reset the bios settings in the Intel® Server System M50CYP1UR212.

Hello DASTY,

Thank you for posting on the Intel® communities.

In order to deal with that problem, you need to do exactly what the system is telling you; therefore, please proceed to complete a full FW update once again with the package below and by following the instructions also included below.

Intel® Server Board M50CYP Family BIOS and Firmware Update Package for UEFI

Additionally, in order to reset the BIOS settings, you will need to follow the steps in the guide below (Page 108, section 13.1):

https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/server-products/single-node-servers/m50cyp2sb-server-board-tps.pdf

Note: The reason this error usually occurs is when a sensor has failed and may not be providing a valid reading warning. Therefore, a full reflash of the latest FW package must be completed.
