Hi,

When troubleshooting a device problem for a core i5 laptop, what are the best recommended steps to be able to access files and software?

You have a laptop and you are in the server forum?

 

Core i5 laptop means nothing.   Explain your problem in much more detail.   What device are you asking about?  What OS,  What does core i5 have to do the the problem?

 

Much more information needed.
