Unable to access bmc using HTTPS on S2600CW2 board

I have a server with the S2600CW2 board whose BMC web console I can access over HTTP.

When I try to access it over HTTPS, it does not respond however.

What could be the cause of this and what else can I do to troubleshoot/resolve it?

Hi User2124,

You may need to first upload a SSL certificate to BMC. The steps to do that can be found at http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/intel_rmm4_ibwc_userguide_r2_72.pdf page 90 section 7.3.7

However, I will find out if there are any other alternatives and let you know as soon as I get an update.

Hi User2124,

The BMC module should be auto generating a self signed certificate that you could use to start connecting through https. The upload a SSL certificate option is there so that you can get a valid certificate from a certificate authority and load it to BMC which is recommended.

However, https can be enabled from the web console in Configuration > Security Settings. Then check on HTTP/HTTPS and there is also an option to force HTTPS. Please try this and let us know how it goes.

What version of BMC are you currently using?
