I have an Esxi 6.5 server running on a S2600CP2 intel server board with the Raid key installed. I would like to use Raid1 on a pair of drives and present the lun to esxi 6.5 for use.

Does anyone know if the ESXi driver located here: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23591/SAS-Hardware-RAID-Driver-for-VMWare-ESX-4 Download SAS Hardware RAID Driver for VMWare* ESX 4 will work with Esxi 6.5? According to the support pages, this is the most current version of that driver for esxi.

Thanks in advance for the assistance.

Hello MyCroWave,

Thanks very much for joining the community.

As you correctly stated the latest VMware driver release for this S2600CP2 board published by Intel is for ESXi 4. Intel has stopped publishing VMware drivers and now customers need to locate the drivers from the VMware website directly. This to avoid compatibility issues.

The most recent driver available for this board from the VMware website is for ESXi 6.0 update 3. You can check this on the following https://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/detail.php?deviceCategory=server&productid=21190&deviceCategory=server&details=1&partner=46&keyword=s2600&page=1&display_interval=10&sortColumn=Partner&sortOrder=Asc URL:

Besides that take into consideration that ESXi doesn't support software RAID so most likely the RAID volume won't show up during the OS installation.

Hope this helps
