Greeting!!!!!

With reference to above subject I have questions as under

I heard that there are some CPU Manufacturer (Intel/IBM) provides two threads in each CPU core & Some CPU manufacturer(Sun) provide eight threads in each CPU Core, relating to this my questions are as under

(Scenario: 3 tier architecture, Front Server would be Intel E55XX Xeon based , Back end server will be HP Integrity RX6600 Intel Itanium2 CPU based & HP EVA 4400 Storage)

Q1: How many simultaneous compute threads could be support by processor in database server? Is multi simultaneous compute thread increase the Database server performance?? if Y or N then Why & How

Thanks & Regards

Miten

On Intel CPUs it's called Hyper-Threading (HT) technology. You can visit http://www.intel.com/technology/platform-technology/hyper-threading/index.htm?iid=tech_product+ht for more details.
