I use vmware esxi 5.5.0.

Is the information taken from the os?

Also saw a old post: and seams to be no answer there.

Hello,

We would like to inform you that the application is not designed to work on a virtual environment. The information is taken from the hardware installed on the server system.

So it doesnt mather if i dont even have a os on the server it will always show 0w?

Stupid question what is intel bmc web console good for then? if information will only show if a "supported" os is installed on it?

There is no such information in:

http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/intel_rmm4_bmc_ews_userguide_r2_8.pdf http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/intel_rmm4_bmc_ews_userguide_r2_8.pdf

under 7.2.3 power statistics page

Hello,

The application must be installed on the host system so it can work properly. It will not work on a client system. The BMC console will provide monitoring for the system in which is installed.

What you mean? its embedded in the s1200btl motherboard? its nothing i have installed, it came with the board, the only thing i have installed is rmm4 so i can remote access the server without connecting keyboard and screen.

Maybe it want clear that it was a "integrated bmc web console" ? or does that still need a application on a os?

As i also linked to befor:

http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/intel_rmm4_bmc_ews_userguide_r2_8.pdf http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/intel_rmm4_bmc_ews_userguide_r2_8.pdf

Every thing from Sensor Readings, system information is working on the bmc ut not power statistics, dont really under stand the application installation part which you talk about.

Hi,

Are you trying to access the system locally or remotely? If remotely, then yes we can consider this an issue with the board but if you are trying to access the system locally using a virtual machine and the BMC console the behavior is completely normal. I look forward for your reply.
