ACPI-to-HID driver information request

I'm looking for more information on an old article that seems to have been pulled entirely from the website. Its original title was "ACPI-To-HID Mapper Driver: Standardizing The Connection Between The OS And External Devices Wired To Embedded Controllers".Apparently there was a software library available for converting ACPI events into HID events at the driver level, but this appears to have disappeared entirely from the Intel site. I'm only able to find cache copies of it and references to the mapper driver in the "Oak City Healthcare Tablet" driver as acpihid.sys (which I'm unable to find, either).

I am interested in obtaining any and all information about this mapper driver, including a copy of it (and/or source), if it's available. I have a tablet PC which has several ACPI-based buttons (as do many businessmen) and I am interested in creating a free control panel applet that would allow manual mapping of these buttons without using the poorly architected and developed OEM solutions. The first implementation would be windows only, although I plan on making a cross-platform solution. If what you can provide is limited, I would be interested to know where to look in order to develop my own solution.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Your further direction is appreciated.

We are sorry, but we've been unable to locate this document. You can find older copies of the Intel Technology Journal at http://www.intel.com/technology/itj/archive/2009.htm, but the issue this article would have appeared in is not there.

I have to make a slight correction to that. The article was in Technology@Intel Magazine, which is unfortunately no longer on the web site. Intel Technology Journal is a different publication, which is still available.
