Hi all,
I have read the following articles
http://cache-www.intel.com/cd/00/00/27/66/276611_276611.txthttp://www.developers.net/intelmcshowcase/view/2093http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/hyper-threading-technology-and-multi-core-processor-detection/http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/multi-core-detect/http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/cpuid-for-x64-platforms-and-microsoft...However, we have a java-based product that needs to be licensed depending on the number of cores.
Is there a pure-java way ? We prefer not to use jni.
Thanks
Marc

Hello,
I deleted your identical post in the Intel Software Partner Program forum. This is the correct forum for Java questions, since we don't have a forum dedicated to Java.
There is an article at http://software.intel.com/en-us/blogs/2009/05/04/counting-cores-in-net-and-java/that describes how to count the number of cores.
I hope that helps. Let me know ifyou find that is not a workable solution.
Best regards,
