Can't Modify Debugger Variables

Help!

I've got a common block variable that I cannot modify under the QuickWatch or the Variables windows. The value changes in the variable programmatically because I can see it. However, I cannot change the variable my self.

Any suggestions are welcome. In addition, I cannot seem to make the register value EAX change either in the debugger. Any thoughts here?
