When I build my app for IOS at the moment that the app start show a Splash Screen with the phonegap robot and then my own Splash Screen, see video... in advance let me tell you that all the icons and screens are assigned in Project Settings and all of them show the content correctly in finder, I tested this activating on deactivating Splash Screen Plugin.

Thank You

Hi Jeff,

Some of those newer plugins do not work well with the CLI 4.x build system, they work best with the CLI 5.x build systems. We have a CLI 5.x build system that is in process for the next major release of the XDK. The current plan is that it will support Android Cordova 4.1.0 and iOS Cordova 3.8.0, as well as Cordova for Windows 8 and Windows 8 Phone.

We are not able to offer all the CLI releases that the Cordova project offers because we must make modifications to the standard build system to accommodate user account security as well as other features that are needed to support features in the XDK designed to simplify the build process for XDK users.

If you are using the EA version of the XDK you will find that the project directory created by the XDK is now very compatible with a local Cordova build system. See this doc for some hints on how that works: https://software.intel.com/en-us/xdk/docs/early-access-project-plugin-selection. BTW, most of those features that are now in the EA version will become part of the next major release of the XDK.

To clarify, there is a minor release coming this week to address the iPhone 6+ splash issue, and then this major release you're referring to is something else. What is the ETA for that?

We're still working on the splash screen issue, a solution has not yet been identified, there are theories, but no proven solution, yet.

Regarding availability, we are not allowed to publish when releases happen. Sorry, but that's a strict company policy (applies to all products, not just the XDK).

Jeff,

EA is "Early Access". It is a separate release (like a beta) for folks who want to try out new features and give feedback on those features before they are incorporated into the regular release. It is a separate download. You can run both the regular release and EA, just not at the same time.

If you want to try EA, go to (https://software.intel.com/en-us/intel-xdk/early-access) and scroll ALL THE WAY DOWN the page to find the download link. WARNING: If you want to try a project in EA and then go back to the main stream edition of Intel XDK, MAKE A COPY of your projects. If you do not make a copy, once you use them in EA, you may not be able to use them in the mainstream edition because they will include newer functionality and may not be backward compatible.

Any update?

Just spoke with the build engineer, we have identified the problem and he is testing it on the staging build system (which is only accessible internally). Hopes to have it available on the production build system on Friday, worst case, early next week. Since the issue can be fixed in the build system it does not require an update to the XDK.

Good stuff, thanks for the update.

Still testing it. Should be good for tomorrow.

Good news, the fix is now live in production. Please rebuild your app and you will have the correct splashscreens on the 6+.
