Crosswalk 7 build apparently is not Crosswalk 7

Hi everyone again,

I have built today our app using Crosswalk 7, but I have the feeling that is NOT Crosswalk 7. This because I noticed:

1) A different behaviour of the app (seen with Crosswalk version > 7)

2) An increased size of the APK (+2Mb), This is impossible since our assets are the same of 3 weeks ago.

Could you please check?

Thanks

Hi, Andrea -- I started the build engineers on a quest, yesterday, regarding this issue. Seems something happened during a build update last week to those Crosswalk builds, not clear what the source of the problem is, but I do have them looking into it. Unfortunately, given we don't know precisely what is causing this, I cannot give you an estimate as to when this will be fixed. Paul

Thanks Paul for the prompt response.

I'll wait for further news.

Paul,

I have look in the headers sent by the browser and this is Crosswalk 7. Still I don't understand the +2Mb size, but maybe the fault is on our side.

There is definitely something amiss with the embedded CW builds. BTW, our new version of the XDK has been released. With that version you can now build against Android-Cordova 4.1.0 (choose CLI 5.1.1) and the more recent plugins. Also, if you choose CLI 5.1.1 you will get the option to build against CW15 (currently in beta, but being released as stable very soon). That CW build uses a different build process that does not have the problem we are trying to resolve with the older embedded builds.

Give the CW15 build a try.

p.s. You may want to make a copy of your project, to be safe, since the project file will be updated (your source will not be touched).
