I just updated the app on an Android 5.1.1 Sony device without any issue.
Go to Settings>>Apps>>Intel App Preview and select "Clear data".
Uninstall the app and install it again.
On Intel XDK, navigate to 'Test' tab and select the 'wifi' option.

Nope. It's not help me.
It happens with last update only. I test on my working Android 4.4 kitkat smartphone and just reset to fabric settings Alcatel with Android 4.3
No connection to XDK.

There is currently a bug with Intel App Preview on Android 4.4 devices. I have reported your issue to the Intel App Preview team. Sorry for the inconvenience.
You can also install the app for testing on device locally via the Debug Tab. The Debug Tab provides an embedded Chrome Developer Tools for debugging your application as well.
