Can't Authenticate in IDE

After installing the latest version, when I start the IDE, it tries to log in but fails with the below error.

I have rebooted and reinstalled the IDE, I still can't connect.  I don't know if my company added group policy that blocks the destination IP for the authentication server - but I don't know what it is to check.

Any help would be appreciated.

Error:

Attempt to contact authentication server is taking a long time. You can wait, or check your network connection and try again.

Are you still experiencing user authentication issues?

Yes. It's been doing this for the last week - since after I installed the version 2727.

It definitely looks like it is failing to connect to the authentication server. Can you try it from outside your company network? Maybe from home?

Account works fine from home.  I can log into through the SDK and can even get to the old web App  Center site at below URL.

I installed Early Access XDK (2682) and it appears to be working .  The regular version still does not.

Although I never get a success page in the build, it just goes back to the build screen - but that's another issue.

You mean you can login to Early Access Intel XDK but not to the regular one from home? That's strange. Could you PM me your login ID for XDK?

Actually,  I can log in to the Early Access from work, but still not the regular XDK.  I notices that the early access is an earlier version.

Normal XDK Version: 2727

Early Access Version: 2682

A few more questions:

1. Are you using EA and regular XDK together? Please only use one at a time.

2. Which OS are you on?

3. Just to clarify, regular XDK login doesn't work from both home and work right?

Also, the latest version of EA is 2682. The versioning should not cause an issue.

Both versions work from home (Regular 2727, EA 2682).   Only the EA version works from my office.  Meaning, the account is OK - there is nothing wrong with the login.  Work is where I am having the issue.  I only mention using it at home to show that the account is ok.

The regular version DOES NOT work from work.
The EA Version WORKS from work.

I did not see issues until I installed version 2727

1. Why?  They are in separate directories, with different executables and supporting files. Are you saying that you can't have a side-by-side installation? I haven't seen any issues before, and I've been running both off and on for a while.

2. I am on Win7 on both home and work computers.  Up to date.

3. See above. Correct - the EA version is 2682 and works fine on both computers.

Hello Mike,

It looks like there are some proxy settings at your work that's stopping the authentication to go through.  At the same time wonder why EA version works fine.

Two side by side installations are fine, but you cannot run two of them at the same time. If you are running both, please close both of them and start one only.

If your proxy settings are correct, it's possible that your installation of 2727 is corrupted? Please try to uninstall and re-install.

Independently, try to login at signin.intel.com from your work and see if that goes through. Please send screenshots of errors if any.

I am only running one at a time.

As stated earlier, I have tried reinstalling the regular version 2727 to no avail (after uninstalling and making sure that all files are deleted from the directory).

I realize that is probably a proxy setting as well, that is why I mentioned it in the first post. :-)

From Previous post:
I don't know if my company added group policy that blocks the destination IP for the authentication server - but I don't know what it is to check.

What I was looking for was help on where the XDK is trying to log into - what IP - so that I could get with my network guys and determine why it's not getting through.

Hi Mike,

Could you send xdk.log file from both your XDK and XDK EA install locations?

Mike, are you running on a Windows, Mac or Linux box? If on a Mac or Linux machine, you can setup the proxy in your environment and then start the XDK from the command-line. see this FAQ > https://software.intel.com/en-us/xdk/faqs/general#bad-proxy -- that may fix the issue.

I am on Win7 (as previously mentioned).

The latest version fixed the issue.
