Hello,
Please help me restore the default layout of the visual studio under compaq visual fortran (ver. 6.5A). I some how have the source files covering the window below the work space window. I would like to restore the default so that the source window is next to the work space window, which I find much better.
Would you please also let me know how to add the "find next" and "find previous" buttons on the tool bar. These buttons are on the micro soft power station, but I do not know how to find and place them on the tool bar in compaq visual fortran.
Thanks for your help.

To restore the default layout, try deleting the .OPT file from your project.
As for the find-next and find-previous buttons, select Tools..Customize, Category:Edit. The buttons are there (Binoculars with an arrow curving to the right and left, respectively.) Drag these to the toolbar where you want them.

Steve,
1. Deleting opt file did not restore the default layout. Any other suggestions.
2. I have placed the "find next" and "find previous" buttons on the tool bar. Thanks for your help.

Deleting registry branch
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftDevStudio6.0Layout
should fix the problem. It would be wise to make a backup of that before deleting (renaming it or exporting it using Registry/Export Registry File...)
As for find next/previous, note that there are also shortcut keys F3/Shift+F3.

You'll want to re-run Per-User Setup after deleting the registry keys.

Hello Yugoslav and Steve,
Thanks for your help. I was able to restore the default setting by deleting the registry branch HKEY_CURRENT_USERsoftwareMicrosoftDevStudio6.0Layout.
I did not had to re-run the Per-User_Setup. When I restarted CVF, the window has restored.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

M. Usman Ghani
