Depth stream cut off

Hi,

I have a peculiar problem. I've notice now when I capture my depth stream, I am left with a black bar along the left of the image. Having the camera in the vertical or horizontal position produces the same black bar at the same location. I am not obstructing the sensors.

Interestingly when I change the angle of the sensor to look towards the ground, the bar size increases.

Which led me to suspect it was too close. I am using a low gain of 2 and even if I point it at the ceiling, I still have a black bar (if smaller).  Anyone encountered this before? My depth resolution is 628x468.

That's probably because the projected pattern does not cover the entire field of view of the IR camera.

It is normal since the display windows is for 640x480.

If I save the PXCImage to file I still get the same bars unfortunately. Is this still expected behaviour?

Thank you, this makes sense.  I noticed as well that in the realsense explorer the boundaries of the image have an incorrect colour. I presume this is a similar thing as there is no valid mapped colour for these depth values.
