Hi,
I want to find if the INTEL 82802 FWH is present. I want to find this even before memory is initialized ( before POST and only some minimal components are initialized).I tried using the command sequence but the return values were wrong( AH=41h, AL=4eh, correct values are ah=ach, al=89h). Should I make some initializations prior to issuing the READ ID command. Is there anyother way to know the ID'S?
If you find this question isn't posted at the right place, Please redirect me to the appropriate section.
Thanks,
Vikranth

Hello,
Your technical question or design inquiry will require a closer look by an Intel product representative or Field Application Engineer (FAE). If your company has its own Intel representative, you may wish to inquire whether he/she is able to assist with this inquiry. Your company's Purchasing Department will normally have your Intel representative's contact information. If you have no contact, please see http://www.intel.com/buy/networking/design.htm under "Design Components".
Best regards,

Hi,
FYI. I found the solution. All we have to do is set the BIOS Control register to enable write cycles to FWH and then sense it.
