It seems that VA 6.5 does not support long file name.
When I compiled a program with long file name or directory name, no compiling error was detected. But, it was worked during run-time.
It worked only after the long file name or directory was trimmed to 8.3 format.

Yes, it does. If it didn't, none of the samples would build! I don't understand exactly what the problem symptoms were - can you provide more detail? Where did the error occur and what was the error?
