Is it compulsory to use 4th gen processor and windows 8.1 64-bit to work with Realsense camera?
I own a windows 8 64-bit PC with intel i7 3670M and will it support the camera?

Nobody got run it on windows 8. Only windows 8.1/10, but your cpu looks fine. I'm working on i7-3770k, and some peoples on 2th gen. of Intel CPU.

For full access to the camera and the RealSense SDK, you need Windows 8.1 64 bits, and a 4th generation Intel Core Processor.
If you have a different setup, some parts of the SDK may still work (speech synthesis, speech recognition, 3D projections, emotion detection, etc, but no tracking or joint detection for example), and you can get the raw data (depth, IR, and color frames) from the camera.
Also, if you don't have a proper USB3.0 connector, the camera will not work.

I got the samples running fine on a 2nd gen I 5 with 4GBs ram and windows 8.1
