Face recognition does not work in 2D camera ?

Please lend someone wisdom . I have been using the RealSenseSDK ver10.0.26.0396. I want to perform the face recognition function in 3D non-compliant camera . I tried the sample (DF_FaceTracking.cs.exe) of the SDK. In the case of 2D tracking , be registered in anyone's face has been recognized to be the same face . For example, it is ID number 100 of my face , the ID of the face of a friend will be number 100 . In the case of 3D tracking , my ID of the face becomes the number 100 , ID of the face of your friends will be 101 . Face recognition does not work in 2D camera ? Thanks
