We have just upgraded our Fortran compiler to v7.3. The source code will compile using the Fortran 77 switch OK. When we try to compile with Fortran 95 we get masses of activity then then compilation fails with no errors. The page file has been increased to something like 5 million blocks. The compilation just uses large amounts of cpu and uses vast amounts of memory to fail with no errors.
Are there any tools we can use to check the validity of the fortran 77 code ? Is this a compiler bug ? We don't seem to have any clues where the problem lies.
Thanks in advance for any advice that can be given.
Mark.

What do you mean "fail with no errors"?
My guess is that there is a compiler bug - but 7.3 is now a year old, 7.4 is current. Or you can try the 7.3 ECO 01 update available from our web site. If the problem still occurs with 7.4, please send a sample source file that demonstrates the problem to us at fortran@compaq.com.
