GDTR,LDTR register content

I've a doubt . It's about GDT . As per the Intel manual it's written 'The linear address of the
base of the GDT is contained in the GDT register (GDTR); the linear address of the LDT is contained in the LDT
register (LDTR).'
But in Understanding the Linux kernel it's given '
- The address and size of the GDT in main memory are contained in the gdtr .' I suppose it's the physical address of GDT.otherwise how the processor will locate the GDT & access it's contents .
