I have still available just the basic resolutions, nothing more (not even those from the DTDs present in .inf file)

Could you help me please?

Oddly, your EDID is giving two separate DTDs for 1680x1050:

21 39 90 30 62 1A 27 40 68 B0 36 00 DA 28 11 00 00 1C

and

7C 2E 90 A0 60 1A 1E 40 30 20 36 00 DA 28 11 00 00 1A

Also possible is that Fujitsu is specifically prohibiting 1680x1050 in its BIOS. Trying 1678x1050 and seeing if that will work will tell you. These are 1678x1050:

21 39 8E 32 62 1A 27 40 68 B0 36 00 DA 28 11 00 00 1C

7C 2E 8E A2 60 1A 1E 40 30 20 36 00 DA 28 11 00 00 1A

Thank you for your reply! I'll give it a try after I get home. However, I have already tried to modify the DTD to uncommon resolution (substracted few pixels), but with no success. Also, I tried to add all custom resolutions predefined in .inf file (DTD_1-4), none of them have ever been available in display settings or intel display settings panel.

Yesterday, it happened to me this situation: I uninstalled the Intel drivers, restarted -> standard VGA drivers. Then I reinstalled the newest version of drivers, restarted. While the nb was starting again, something probably went wrong and I got the message that the process igfxpers.exe was terminated (->error). I don't know whether another igfx... processes were in memory or not. I confirmed the error message and then opened display properties, and just now I could choose also 1600x1200 resolution, which I can't choose normally. At that time I had no custom DTD in registry (clean reinstall), so I can't say whether these would be displayed or not. Also, I don't know why I can't normally choose resolution 1600x1200 (my nb should support it when the external monitor is primary and the only one monitor).

The question is - could any of the processes (igfx...) block the resolutions available in control panel? Or is it something else?

Thank you very much for your help!

So I have tested it and there is no change, I can't see any custom resolution...

Hmmm... not good. Disabling igfxpers.exe in the registry at startup will often allow you to preserve resolutions which sometimes disappear at reboot, so that's something you might try.

Another possibility... I know it's a dumb questioin, but do you have the "Hide modes my monitor cannot display" checkbox unchecked?

Thanks for your reply. It is unchecked, but its gray (uncheckable). What I have forgotten to add the last time, that after the igfxpers.exe I could choose even more screen refresh rates in dropdown (now there's just 60 Hz, there were 75 Hz and one more which I don't remember). Now there's just 60 Hz (selectable) and "Hide modes" is unchecked and grayed.

I also probably forgot to add that the resolution 1600x1200 which I could select that time, is defined in users guide as "for external monitor" only, with no signal to notebook lcd (so that notebook screen must be turned off at that time), in case there are both external monitor and notebook screen turned o

Video Mobile Intel GMA X3100 with Intel Clear Video Technology
Controller enabling DX10 and MPEG-2; Dynamic Video Memory Technology (DVMT) responds
to application requirements and efficiently allocates the proper amount of system
memory (up to 384 MB) for optimal graphics and system performance.
Resolution Maximum internal display resolution: 1280 x 800, 16M colors; external monitor
resolution: 1600x1200, 16M colors; simultaneous display resolution: 1280 x 800

It is really weird that I can't choose 1600x1200 even if I am at Intel graphics card settings panel choose monitor as the only display, there's highest 1440x1050.

Do you think there is any viable solution?
I need to decide whether I go for this monitor or I return it back to the shop in 14 days return-period.

What if I buy something like that?
IOGear GUC2015V External VGA Video Card (you can find it on amazon, I don't want to post links)

Thank you for your help and suggestions!

Not surprised you can't get 1600x1200 to work, as your monitor doesn't claim to accept it, but you really should be seeing 1680x1050 for use given what you've tried so far. Unless disabling persistence helps, I'm about out of tricks, unfortunately. :(

EDIT: What version of the drivers are you using? And can you copy the .inf file entries you're using and paste them here?

Disabling persistence didn't help. :( First I used the newest drivers downloaded from Intel website, then I tried also the version from Fujitsu website. The last time I couln't install the default version (shipped with nb) so I installed the newest version from Fujitsu site without any problem...

What are you putting in the .inf file to try to get the DTDs in the registry? Just cut and paste what you have in the .inf.
