How to manage an expired license?

Hi folks,

I have an valid floating license and I want to move the license to a new license server.

Why is it not possible to manage an "expired" license?
It is not the license that is expired but the update and support period.
I don't want an update, the version I use is fine.

Any suggestions? Thx in advance...
