Infos about Hard F200 and Soft Scanner / SecondLifeOpensimulator / etc

Hello,
I am interested in Realsense for software and hardware aspects :
> Hardware to make a modular and multi-use system going beyond a webcam

> Software to fulfill needs related to a virtual environment , 3D scanning needs etc
Hardware :
The F200 meets the technical needs but i would like a smaller one if possible. Are there would manufacturers who have smallers versions ?
Software :

I am looking to indentify current developments regarding :
> Algorithms to detect motions/forms at a minimum distance of 1,2 meters
> 3D Scanning System
> Real Time Motion detection system already interfaced with Second Life/Opensimulator viewers

> Motion Capture System interfaced with animations editors

If you have tracks for a beginner and prevent him excavate it would be nice ;)

Coté hardware
La F200 répond aux besoins techniques mais j'aimerai trouver quelque chose de plus petit si c'est possible.
Y aurait il des constructeurs qui auraient des versions plus petites ?

If you would like a smaller version of the RealSense hardware, the R200 may be better for you.  It depends on what you want your software to do.  For example, the R200 can do face tracking like the F200 does but apparently does not have hand tracking.  The R200 is also particularly suited to 3D object scanning.

Regarding the need for a small size: Intel's CEO recently announced that a new smaller version of the R200 is coming that fits inside a smartphone casing.  There's no details of a release date yet though.

Using the camera with Second Life and OpenSim may be difficult, as the camera is not recognised as a joystick by Windows and so you cannot control an avatar by assigning the joystick controls to the camera.

I remember someone made open source software several years ago to control worlds like SL and World of Warcraft with a Kinect camera, so maybe that open source code could be adapted for the RealSense camera.

Utilisation de la caméra avec Second Life et OpenSim peut être difficile, que la caméra ne soit pas reconnu comme un joystick par Windows et donc vous ne pouvez pas contrôler un avatar en assignant les commandes de la manette à la caméra.

Je me souviens que quelqu'un a fait un logiciel open source, il ya plusieurs années pour contrôler mondes comme SL et World of Warcraft avec une caméra Kinect, alors peut-être le code source qui ouvert pourrait être adapté pour la caméra RealSense.
