Hey,
I have an old Dell laptop I'm using to see High-Def video on my flat-screen TV - basically as a TV centre, without a tuner. It's running a 945GM video card.
It's been working fine for a while, but it suddenly stopped working.
The TV is fine - it accepts input from another laptop using the same VGA cable, or an an xbox using another VGA cable, it's as if the out-connector suddenly broke for no reason!
I've tried updating the driver, reinstalling Windows 7, and live-booting ubuntu 8.04 - all with the same result. The tv is found by the software, but when I ask the computer to clone to the TV - it just doesn't.
I've more or less resigned myself to it being knackered - but I just can't reconcile that with the software always identifying the TV. (Ubuntu even recognized the TV model!)
I guess I'm just hoping someone here can say: "But, ahh! You should just..." and I won't have to spend 120$ on WD TV Live or something to replace my old "media centre"...
Thanks in advance!
The add files dialog here is kindda strange, so I'll just paste the saved report from the laptop here:
