Intel Haswell Celeron processor compatibility with Realsense 3D Camera / SDK

Hi,

I am planning to use the following Intel Haswell processor specification for Realsense 3D Camera. Could someone please tell me, do these processor work well to recognize the Realsense 3D Camera ? (or) Do you suggest anything else ?

Intel Celeron 2955U dual-core Haswell processor, with 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage 

or

Intel Celeron 2980U dual-core Haswell processor, with 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage

Hi Esa,

The Celeron Haswell processors are stripped-down versions of the Core Haswell chips that RealSense prefers.  So whilst the Celeron is kind-of Haswell and is 4th Generation, it is not the same as the Core processors that are recommended for use with RealSense.

If you are looking for a budget option, you should aim for a machine with an Intel Core i3 Haswell processor.  If you are not confident about buying parts and upgrading the inside of a PC, Intel supplies a powerful mini PC called the Intel NUC that is guaranteed to work with RealSense (as Intel gave them out as prizes in their recent RealSense App Challenge contest).  The latest models use the newer 5th Generation Broadwell processors.

Edit: when I say the NUC is guaranteed to work with RealSense, I don't mean that Intel give a literal guarantee promise policy that it will.  Based on the fact that it comes directly from Intel and that no-one I know of on this forum who has bought or won a NUC has had problems with using RealSense with it, it's as much as a solid-gold, 99% certain recommendation as you can get.  :)
