Hi,
We recently installed a PHI on a Dell R720 server running Ubuntu 14.04 with Mellanox OFED 2.3
From https://software.intel.com/en-us/blogs/2014/09/23/working-with-mellanox-infiniband-adapter-on-system-with-intel-xeon-phi-coprocessors at section 2.3, there is instructions to install Mellanox OFED 2.1 to support host IB adapter. I am running Mellanox OFED 2.3.1 and can't take it down to 2.1. The question is: Is it possible to work with Mellanox OFED 2.3.1 on the PHI?
If I follow the instruction in the above mentionned documentation, I will end up in downgrading the Mellanox DAPL package from dapl 2.1.1 to dapl 2.0.42, and I don't expect it to work.
Thanks!

Furthermore, I cannot compile ofed-drivers.
ib8-gn01:~/mpss-3.4.3/src# rpmbuild --nodeps --rebuild --define "MOFED 1" ofed-driver-3.4.3-1.src.rpm

Any clues?
I am running Ubuntu 12 and Mellanox OFED 2.1.
Thanks.

Hi Patrice,
Depending on the MPSS version, different OFED stacks are supported. If you use MPSS 3.4.x, Intel(R) Xeon Phi(TM) coprocessor supports Mellanox* OFED 2.1/2.2/2.3 . Please take a look at the MPSS Users Guide for MPSS 3.4.3 here http://registrationcenter.intel.com/irc_nas/6253/MPSS_Users_Guide.pdf
However, we just support SuSE and RHEL officially. If you are installing OFED on Ubuntu, please give it a try and let us know if it is working.
Regards

Just tried Ubuntu 12.04 with Mellanox OFED 2.1 which produces same result. The problem stands into Ubuntu compatibility.
