Hi,
I originally asked this back in the old forums about 18 months ago, and again here in April - but as of now, it still seems impossible to target only the ipad (and not ipad + iphone) through the xdk. This is a limitation I feel wouldn't be too hard to add as an extra build feature, but it seems this just keeps getting pushed and pushed. Is this going to be available for the June release?
This is a small but crucial feature - I hope this really is getting some attention.

Altering the plist is something we've requested. I'll add your post to that request.

I understand your concern for this and I agree. Here is the problem:
With the XDK we allow users to develop, then In with the build system we allow users to build against the Cordova build tools (which Cordova maintains, not Intel). Currently this is not a supported feature with Cordova, so it is not supported by the XDK. We strive to not alter the build tools with hacks like this. While it may seem like a fairly trivial feature, the long term maintainablity for it is not as simple.

Hi John, thanks for the reply.
Phonegap build has a feature that allows the user to alter the plist / manifest of the app through the config file: http://phonegap.com/blog/2014/01/30/customizing-your-android-manifest-and-ios-property-list-on-phonegap-build/
(not just allowing to add rows, but also to overwrite rows)
Would the xdk team be more open to implement a feature along these lines? This would offer a systematic, non-hacky way to extend the app configurations, opening up a whole lot of new developer possibilities (including the ability to solve this ipad issue quite easily) - I strongly feel that this would be a great addition.

Hi Paul, thanks for the reply!
Hopefully this gets integrated in this month's release. Thank you for pushing this through!
