I have a laptop with an intel gm965 chipset. I just can't get the vga out working.
I'm on windows xp sp2 with the lastest drivers from intel's website installed (v 14.34). I've tried with many displays, including a TV, using both clone and extended desktop settings. Some didn't show nothing at all, just a "no signal" message, and others started flickering in and out, showing "no signal" when the image goes away. Some times windows freezes and I have to reset, I suspect that the display driver crashes windows. I also tried with xp sp3 and an ubuntu live-cd. Ubuntu got the vga output working, while sp3 didn't.
I don't know if this is a known issue or just my vga out or chipset is broken, but if you can help with something I would be very pleased. Also, if this forum is not the right place for getting help, i'm sorry. And, by the way, sorry about my english.

Try going to http://support.intel.com. There are folks there that should be able to help you out. From your symptoms, that doesn't sound like a driver problem to me, however. You could also try your OEM and see if there are any known issues with your particular model (bad memory, board problems, etc).
