In the document, https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/a-comparison-of-intel-realsensetm-front-facing-camera-sr300-and-f200,
it states that the SR300 supports Object Tracking at 30-180 cm.
However after reviewing, https://software.intel.com/sites/landingpage/realsense/camera-sdk/v1.1/documentation/html/index.html?doc_ot_object_tracking.html,
I find the SDK documentation states:
The Metaio* 3D object tracking module provides optical-based tracking techniques that can detect and track known or unknown objects in a video sequence or scene. The Metaio Toolbox is provided to train, create, and edit 3D models that can be passed to various object detection and tracking algorithms.
The algorithm works for camera model F200 only.
I am confused, will object tracking work with the SR300? I have one pre-order and the project it is on order for will depend on object tracking.
Thanks,
gov

David,
Thank you for your prompt reply however this is disheartening news. Will any of the 4 methods of object tracking mentioend in the SDK manual be supported for ther SR300:
2D objects tracking (planar objects) |
|
Feature based 3D tracking |
|
Edge based 3D tracking from CAD models |
|
Instant 3D tracking |
